I asked for it and [info]sunnyrea provided
Here you go [info]sunnyrea. The icons you picked!

Most of my icons are used for specific types of entries, or for specific communities that I belong too, but most are just the best of the best of the best of the THOUSANDS of icons I own. :D Enjoy

Icon Meme )
I'm suppose to have you all comment and be like PICK 6 OF MY ICONS FOR ME TO TALK ABOUT!!!!!!!! But I'm lazy, and frankly not on lj enough to check and pick, so pick 6 of your frequently asked about icons, and explain and then if YOU want to know about specific icons of your friends and have the time to do it, pick for them. :D

I hate moving. I forgot, once again, all my cutting tools at home. All my SEWING tools. I have a razor but that won't help me make my dress for Friday night. And I was at home yesterday and I KNEW I needed to bring them with me. DAMNIT!

On the other negative size, in making this dress I re-took my measurements, knowing I gained some weight... well I gained more then SOME. I can't even fit into my dress form sizes anymore. And it's adjustable. Now I know it's the winter and I'll loose some of it this summer but it's not helping me out now.

So I go to start my dress tonight, it's a simple self designed pattern. Skirt, mid section and triangular halter top, but I have no sewing tools, and no dress form to help with the fitting..... FAIL!

Being sick sucks. On the plus side, I don't get sick often, well not since around this time last year, so, hopefully I'll be good for a while.

I have a dinner party for Behn's work NEXT Friday, the 29th. It's a great excuse to make this dress I've been talking about. :D

So the house is coming along. Not quite there yet but on it's way. We still have boxes lying around but they are slowly coming unpacked. Most of the shelving from my house is here, we just have to find a set place for them, then more unpacking can happen.

The kitchen is half way there. We just have a few more cabinets to contact paper. :D The bathroom is all together which is nice. The "playroom," which is a combination sewing room and computer haven is pretty set, just have to put together another table and put in another desk.

We have some stuff on the walls already which makes it feel like home.

Overall things are doing well. My cousins live about a block away and we stopped at their house when we went for a walk tonight. Another friend lives up the street from us, but we have yet to determine which place is his.

Overall we like our house and we LOVE the neighborhood. I mean The Blob was filmed here and they have a festival dedicated to it every year where people make tin foil hats and run out of the theater just like the movie!

When things are more settled I'll post pictures and we'll be sure to have a house warming party.

Until then,
xoxo

I'm going into work late today because there is family stuff going on and I had to get Maggie off to school. I don't even care that I'm going in late, they know about it, because I'm responsible about that, but they can shove my measly pay up their asses. :D

Halloween kicked major ass. Like SUPER MAJOR ASS!!

I went to the Spectrum to see Pearl Jam on the final night. It was to say the least AMAZING!

Set List )

Yes, they played for 3.5 hours and sung 41 songs. It was amazing. The best surprise was... BAD RELIGION OPENED FOR THEM!!! I was in heaven. My two favorite bands, one venue, favorite holiday, historic event. I have the t-shirt to prove it. I had NO IDEA they were opening. Behn and I got there early, found our seats, then headed to the merch booth. I was just looking for a t-shirt that I saw someone wearing saying Pearl Jam is bring it down, or something like that, when I looked to the side of the booth and BOOM there was a t-shirt saying Pearl Jam Bad Religion, the Spectrum, October 31st, 2009. I bought it. It was cheap for a concert t, only $20. We had really awesome seats, and cool people all around us. It's a night I won't forget that is for sure. They played the classics, songs they never and will never play live again, and some of my favorites that weren't singles. I was so freaking excited over that night. I've seen Pearl Jam 3 times now, and this, BY FAR, was the best I've seen them. So I'm a happy camper.

So, LJ readers, I'm sorry for the lack of updates. They blocked pretty much everything at work so I can't post nor read there, and by the time I get home from said job I usually have to go get ready for the next day of work and go to bed, so I get very little internet time, that isn't spent playing DOMO, and that is usually at Behn's house.

He and I can't move yet because they dicked him over and can't hirer him on as a full employee until December/January, and with the holidays coming up, we can't afford to take on an apartment payment. I'm looking for new jobs (as best I can since that's blocked at work as well. So needless to say my search isn't going that well. I need ot suck up my fears and call my new friend at WYSP and go get a tour and meet at the station, though I doubt it will amount to anything, but you never know.

I want to either do radio or start my own sewing business, or both. I've decided that's what I want to do with my life. Behn is trying to start his own website as well, but it too will take time. He's being really supportive of me and I am of him. It's working out really well. :D

So overall that is where the Infamous Kari is at right now. :D

Idea
I want to sew for a living... just sew and make my own stuff and sell in online and at craft fairs and the like...

My mom's friend Roseann is coming over sometime soon and is going to pay me $10 to hem her pants, b/c she takes them to a tailor and they charge her the same (plus tax) and she would rather give me the $10...

I could make a small business out of doing that.. sewing and heming and making stuff!! That would be awesome!! I would be a super happy camper, and I could work part-time on the side when I needed to as well, to help offset the costs!!

I just need to set up the right steps. One of the ladies I work with was saying to work at a few differnt dry cleaners and doing the heming. That would give me the experience I need but the money probably wouldn't be that great.

The best senerio would be to get a job at a fabric store so I could use my discounts and be sewing all the time. I just need to get better at sewing.

I mean if I had more time to just sew some stuff to sell I'm sure it is possible it's a matter of having time... so mow I'm thinking of take a higher paying PT job and starting this on the side. I have friends who sew as well (mainly Grace, but she is out in Seattle now). If I advertise enough I'm sure I can do it. I just need the time and the space... But I mean I enjoy sewing and even if I just sell accessories and do minor alterations on the side and practice on my own stuff and practice on GoodWill clothes I'm sure I can do it and I know enough people that can do those types of things to help and teach me :)

I really want to do it.. and the more I'm seeing and with the internet I feel it is possible.. but the only problem is, if I do this money will be tighter

I bet all that is repeative, but that is the brain and the though process... ANY IDEAS OR SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATIVE!!

I realize I use a lot of ... instead of just a period, like I have ongoing thoughts afterwards that I didn't write, perhaps I do, or perhaps it is just me being me.

To be a good girl or not to be a good girl...

Bodyline is having all their shipping costs capped at $20... so no more $65 shipping for three items!! I'm not heavily debating on buying a bunch of items I want... including a pair of earings that match a ring I bought at Otakon perfectly...

do I, or don't I? That is the question!!!

So otakon was great this year, full of lolita-goodness. I cosplayed as Shinku from Rozen Maiden on Friday, and I really didn't have the urge to cosplay the rest of the weekend even though I brought along Utena and Faye... so instead I was my lolita self. I changed mid-day from Shinku to my Candy Violet Princess Set and went to the American Lolita panel. Saturday I went to the GEORGEOUS fashion show wearing my BodyLine music note jsk w/ matching accessories and shoes!! Sunday I just wore my bow and dressed in street clothes due to the fact that I was the one driving and had a few places to stop along the way home.
    \
I played massive amounts of Puzzle Fighter in the game room, went to a bunch of panels and like 1 move... it was a movie of awesome none the less. GO SEE OH! MY ZOMBIE MERMAID! (AH! The House of Wrestling). Yes, that is the full title. It was hilarious. I totally recommend it.

Now I am back at work, busy as ever (yet here I am posting :]). I have Grace's wedding on Monday at 2 to which I still need to get a gift for.

I'm planning on sewing tonight and on Sunday, possibly on Thursday. Behn has been staying with me all week so I'm not alone in my house since the rest of my family is on vacation. :) It's been over a week stright with him and we haven't faught or argued and we aren't sick of each other... that is an amazing thing. :)

They are calling for rain all weekend and through next week which makes me a sad Kari. :( But we shall see. Until next time.
